Frequently asked questions
Who can use the app?
The app is for existing customers of the Bharat Grocery Store in Munich. If you don't have a customer card yet, register once at the till — we'll add your details and issue your personal Bharat Bandhu barcode. After that, you can sign in to the app immediately.
I'm not receiving the SMS with the login code
The one-time code (OTP) is sent by SMS to the mobile number you registered with us. If the SMS doesn't arrive:
- Double-check you entered the right number (including the country code, e.g.
+49for Germany). - Make sure your phone is connected to the mobile network (no airplane mode, good signal).
- Wait up to 60 seconds — SMS can occasionally be delayed.
- After 30 seconds, tap "Resend code".
- If the SMS still doesn't arrive, email us at tadastithi@bharatonline.de — your number may be stored in a slightly different format on our side.
"Phone number not registered" — what now?
If the app says your number isn't registered, there are two possible reasons:
- You are already a Bharat Bandhu customer, but your number is stored differently in our database. Please email us at tadastithi@bharatonline.de or bharatmasalahat@gmail.com with your name and registered phone number. We'll fix it within 1-2 business days.
- You haven't registered as a Bharat Bandhu customer yet. Please complete our quick registration form. Once we've added you to the customer database, you can sign in to the app.
I forgot my PIN
If you've forgotten your 4-digit PIN, simply log in again using the SMS flow (enter phone → receive SMS code). You can then set a new PIN.
My barcode isn't being scanned at the till
The barcode in the app is identical to your physical Bharat Bandhu card. If it doesn't scan:
- Turn your screen brightness up to maximum.
- Hold your phone as flat as possible above the scanner.
- Tap the barcode in the app to display it in full-screen mode.
- If it still won't scan, just tell the cashier your phone number — we can look up your account manually.
My Bharat Bandhu points are wrong
Points are pulled directly from our in-store point-of-sale system. If your balance looks off:
- Points from today's purchases may take until the next day to appear.
- If the balance still doesn't match after that, please email tadastithi@bharatonline.de or bharatmasalahat@gmail.com with the date and approximate amount of the purchase. We'll review the record and correct it if needed.
I want to change my phone number
Please email us at tadastithi@bharatonline.de or bharatmasalahat@gmail.com with your name, current registered phone number, and the new phone number you'd like to use. We'll update your record within 1-2 business days and confirm by email.
I want to delete my app account
You can delete your account yourself at any time:
- Open the app and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Deletion is immediate and final. All app-specific data (PIN, sessions, devices) is removed straight away. Your underlying customer record in the store is retained for tax purposes. Details: see Privacy Policy, Section 7.
How do I enable or disable push notifications?
Push notifications aren't active in the current version. When we enable them, we'll explicitly ask for your consent. You'll be able to revoke it at any time in your device settings or in the app's Profile tab.
What data does the app collect?
We process only the data needed to operate the app: your phone number (for sign-in), your name and barcode (from your existing customer card), and your Bharat Bandhu points. The app contains no third-party advertising, no behavioural tracking, and no analytics tools. The banners and product highlights in the app are our own store's offers — there are no external ad networks or sponsored content. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
The app crashes or a feature isn't working
Sorry about that. Please email us at tadastithi@bharatonline.de with:
- Your device and OS version (e.g. "iPhone 14, iOS 18.4")
- What you were doing when the issue happened
- A screenshot of any error message, if possible
